Parts Work, Video Helpful

"I used this kit to replace the rusted, broken brake lines on a 2005 civic LX coupe. The video was super helpful, but the mechanic in the video must have some sorcery at work with removing the old fittings. None of mine would come off without spending untold hours of time. I gave up and cut everything with snips and used a socket. I ended up ordering new brake hoses, it wasn’t worth it to fight the fittings off the old ones. I took out the proportioning valve and removed the fittings in a bench vise. This allowed me to use air to blow out the debris. I thought the rear lines, under the gas tank would be the toughest part. Wrong. That wasn’t that bad, and I only had the car on jackstands. Getting all the lines into the proportioning valve was the really hard part. The lines need to be “lined up” perfectly to hand thread successfully. Sounds easy, but there’s not a lot of room to work and it’s hard to see. The lines need to be bent slightly in various directions to facilitate assembly. I’m happy with the kit, I did the job over several days and took my time. It’s not the car I drive everyday so I wasn’t in a rush. If you are in a rush, it’s a big task for a single day. I’d plan a whole weekend."
