LinesToGo Brake Line Installation: A Guide To Decoding Part Numbers

So, you’ve just unboxed your brand-new set of LinesToGo lines. You can see the quality right away - the precise, CNC-bent curves and the durable, rust-proof stainless steel fittings. They’re ready to go, but looking at a full set of pre-bent lines can feel like a bit of a puzzle. Which line goes where?

Don't worry, we've got you covered. We designed our system to be as straightforward as possible, and we’ve even got a video above that will walk you through it. This article will give you a quick rundown of the info in the video, explaining how to decode the part numbers on your brake lines so you can tackle your brake line replacement with confidence.

Decoding The Part Numbers

Every line in your kit is labeled with a part number. The key to understanding its location on the vehicle is in the second sequence of numbers on that label. Think of it as a map for your installation.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what those numbers mean:

  • 01: Primary Line - This line runs from the rear port of the master cylinder to your ABS module or proportioning valve.
  • 02: Secondary Line - This one runs from the front port of the master cylinder to the ABS module or proportioning valve.

Heads Up - If you have an older vehicle without an ABS module or proportioning valve, your lines will run directly from the master cylinder to the wheels. In that case, you won’t have lines labeled 01 or 02.

  • 03: Left Front Line - This line connects from the ABS module (or master cylinder) to the flex hose at your front left wheel.
  • 04: Right Front Line - You guessed it! This line connects from the ABS module (or master cylinder) to the flex hose at your front right wheel.

Rear Brake Line Part Numbers

This is where things can vary a bit depending on your vehicle's setup, but the logic is the same.

For Vehicles with a Single Feed Line to the Rear Axle:

  • 05: Rear Feed Line - This is the main line running from the front of the vehicle (from the ABS module or proportioning valve) back to the rear flex hose on the axle.
  • 06A and 06B – Rear Axle Lines: These are the lines located on the rear axle itself. 06A is for the left rear wheel, and 06B is for the right rear wheel.

For Vehicles with Two Separate Lines Running to the Rear:

  • 05: Left Rear Line - This line runs all the way from the ABS module/proportioning valve to the left rear wheel.
  • 06: Right Rear Line - This line runs all the way from the ABS module/proportioning valve to the right rear wheel.

Decoding Sectioned Line Part Numbers

Sometimes, a single brake line has to navigate a tricky path through the chassis. To make the brake line installation process much less of a headache, we split some long lines into multiple sections. These are labeled alphabetically (A, B, C, etc.).

The rule is simple: Line 'A' is always the starting point, closest to the master cylinder. You'll connect A to B, B to C, and so on, until the final section connects to the wheel. To make it even easier, these sectioned lines are color-coded to help you match them up quickly.

For example, if you see a line labeled AS05A:

  • The 05 tells you it’s part of the rear feed line system.
  • The A tells you it’s the very first section.

This piece will connect to the ABS module on one end and then, using a union, connect to line 05B, which will continue the journey toward the rear flex hose.
